Loading zones support genuine loading and unloading, but vehicle type, activity, time limits and sign wording all matter.

A loading zone is not general parking. It is intended for permitted vehicles and loading activity under the conditions shown on the sign.
When it applies
- A Loading Zone sign applies to the kerb.
- You are actively loading or unloading goods or passengers allowed by the rule.
- The vehicle type and time limit meet the sign conditions.
What drivers should check
- Read vehicle-type, day and time panels before stopping.
- Leave once loading or unloading is complete.
- Check whether nearby ticket, meter or permit rules start after loading-zone hours.
Common mistakes
- Parking for shopping or appointments without active loading.
- Walking away from the vehicle for unrelated errands.
- Assuming every van or ute can use the zone regardless of activity.
