What does 2P mean?
2P generally means you may park for up to two hours while the sign applies, subject to operating times and any payment or permit conditions.
What the rule generally means
The number before P is the maximum parking period. Other panels can change when it applies.
Example
A 2P 8:30am-6pm sign means the two-hour limit applies during the posted hours.
Possible exceptions
- Permit holders may be excepted if the sign says so.
- Meters or ticket machines may still require payment.
- Disability permit concessions must be checked against current rules.
What to check locally
- Read every panel on the sign.
- Check arrows for the controlled area.
- Look for meter, ticket or permit instructions.
